Here’s a new mixtape by the group dubbed the “New Wu-Tang”, Line For Line. Here’s a little more about the project.
Hip Hop super group the LFL have been gearing up for the release of their self titled debut album on November 6. As what has become customary in the new age of rap a mixtape release is in order. Their debut mixtape “the Scrimmage” was made available yesterday to fans and has spread like wildfire. The cd is a compilation of material from group member Red Rum, Deeno Snuff, Aspect, TripleX, Pachino Papes, Semaj, R.O.D., Nat & producer G. Rydah, collectively known as Line for Line aka the LFL. Because of the shear depth of their team blatant comparisons have been made of them as the new Wu Tang. A comparison they welcome as they are also representatives of New York City Hip Hop.
Line for Line founder Red Rum said “The scrimmage mixtape is basically just a warm up for the LFL season.” As for the similarities with the group and the National Football League Rum said “Man we’re deep like a football team plus our punchlines hit harder than Line Backers”. If this is what the group considers a warm up I can’t wait for the game. The Scrimmage mixtape not only features music from crew members but also a snippet track of the entire debut album.
