Dica de livro: O Ladrão de Raios

Ontem a noite terminei de ler o primeiro livro da série “Percy Jackson &¨os Olimpianos”, O Ladrão de Raios, de Rick Riordan.

O livro é MUITO bom, lembra um pouco Harry Potter, mas, graças à Deus, não tem nada a ver com bruxos.

Percy Jackson & os Olimpianos – O Ladrão de Raios conta a história de Perceu – Percy -, um garoto de 12 anos que já foi expulso de várias escolas (uma a cada série). Sofre de dislexia e transtorno de déficit. Mais tarde ele descobre que esses problemas, na verdade, não são problemas, mas sim adaptações.

Percy descobre que é filho de um deus grego, um dos Três Grandes, e passa o verão no acampamento Meio-Sangue, acampamento para semi-deuses como ele.
Lá ele conhece muitas pessoas como ele e descobre um novo mundo: dos sátiros, dos centauros, nas ninfas, das náiades, dos deuses.

Depois de Percy descobrir quem é o seu pai, que ele não sabia qual dos deuses era, ele já recebe uma missão: o raio-mestre de Zeus e o elmo de Hades sumiram. O principal suspeito de ter roubado estes pertences é Percy, a mando de seu pai.

Então Percy, junto com sua amiga semi-deusa, Annabeth, filha de Athena, e Grover, um sátiro, parte rumo ao Mundo Inferior falar com o principal suspeito de ter armado tudo isso: Hades.
No caminho eles aprendem mais sobre a mitologia grega e enfrentam montros e Fúrias.

O livro é excelente, pois mostra os deuses de uma forma mais atual. Ares, o deus da guerra, por exemplo, é um homem de jaqueta de couro, óculos escuros e olhos em chamas. Zeus é um homem de terno e gravata. As filhas de Afrodite são frescas e vaidosas.

A história é divertidissima, interessante, empolgante, e em nenhum momento intediante. (HÁ eu sou um rapper!)

FileReference.download() falla, no descarga el archivo, no hace nada

A diferencia de una aplicación Adobe Air, cuando esta se compila en un archivo Flash (SWF), el método Download() de la clase FileReference despliega la ventana para almacenar el archivo pero este no es descargado, simplemente no ocurre nada.

La solución es sencilla:

El método Download falla sólo cuando la clase FileReference es instanciada dentro de una función local. Para solucionar el problema basta con declararla de manera global. Ejemplos:

De esta forma el método Download no hará nada:

De esta manera el método Download descargará el archivo y lo almacenará en el directorio elegido por el usuario:

Lira: “The DVD cover attached. would you believe that because we shot HD: even the best Grading studio in the country is ill-equipped to handle the file size of the DVD. Its over 3000 cuts in HD and these guys although briefed months ago, suddenly find themselves overwhelmed with the project. Now new software has to brought in from London to start the process. Our current DVD release date is 9th November 2009. I’m praying that this will not be affected. This project is unprecedented for South Africa.”

We are all bracing for this project and hope it makes the release date. Exciting!

[TGS09] Novo trailer, gameplay, imagens e ainda demo de Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Kojima é um marketeiro, isso todos sabem, também já conhecíamos sua capacidade de fazer verdadeiras obras de arte em suas jogos. Porém a capacidade dele de criar algo genial e uma expectativa gigantesca após mostrar um trailer de 9 minutos sobre um jogo portátil… Bom isso nós conhecemos hoje.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker está jogável na Tokyo Game Show e deixou todos que o jogaram boquiabertos, nenhuma surpresa vindo do Diretor Kojima. Os gráficos do jogo já impressionavam no anúncio da E3 deste ano, e agora eles estão ainda melhores do que antes. Isso sim é uma surpresa!

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker está previsto para algum momento em 2010.

Plugin Admin Features:
The location plugin creates a new submenu in the wordpress general navigation. From there you can access the main location page of the plot position page

Unzip and upload the locations plugin folder to wp-content/plugins/

Introducing Ubuntu

Here I will start describing my linux experience. First of all I want to show you that it isn’t hard to install and use linux and even noob user can do it. OK, let’s get started.

Why Ubuntu

Ubuntu is operating system based on Debian Linux. “Ubuntu” word takes origin from South Africans and means “humanity towards others”. Ubuntu provides an up-to-date, stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on usability and ease-of-installation. Ubuntu installing package contains applications  from word processing and email applications, to web server software and programming tools. Ubuntu has huge active community and it is very popular in my county.

So I choose it for easy installation, usability and community, even if I would have problems with it, it is easy to find answer in internet.

There are two Ubuntu releases per year, using the year and month of the release as the version number. Each version has name. Current version of Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) and the upcoming version 9.10 (Karmic Koala), is planned to be released on October 2009.

• Delivery typically takes 6-10 weeks

Installing

After downloading the Ubuntu installation CD image, you need to burn it to a CD or DVD.

Ubuntu can be installed with the graphical CD. Make sure that your computer is set to boot from a CD before a hard drive.

• Insert the Ubuntu disc into your CD drive.
• Start or restart your computer.
• Select your desired language and press Enter.
• Select Install Ubuntu and press Enter.
• Step 1: Welcome. From the taskbar, choose your preferred language. Click Forward.
• Step 2: Where are you? From the Selected city box, choose your closest location. Click Forward.
• Step 3: Keyboard layout. Select your keyboard layout. To test if you have chosen the correct layout, enter characters in the text box. Click Forward.
• Step 4: The Prepare disk space. If you want to install Ubuntu over your entire hard drive, then Select Guided – use entire disk and select the hard drive that you want to install Ubuntu.

WARNING: Installing Ubuntu on your entire hard disk will erase all data that is currently on the drive.

OR

• If you want to install Ubuntu on a single partition Dual Booting, Select Guided – resize. In the New partition size area, drag the area between the two partitions to create your desired partition sizes. Click ‘Forward.
• Step 5: Who are you? Enter your name, login name, password in both text boxes. If you are the only user and wish to avoid the login screen, check Log in automatically (optional). Click Forward.
• Step 6: Ready to install. Verify that the language, layout, location, and personal information are correct and click Install. The installation wizard begins. When the installation wizard finishes, the installation complete window appears. Click Restart now to restart your computer. Ubuntu is now installed.

Kubuntu is an official derivative of Ubuntu using the KDE environment instead of GNOME. It is part of the Ubuntu project and uses the same underlying system. It is an exciting distribution that showcases the full potential of the KDE desktop. Kubuntu shares the same repositories as Ubuntu, and relies on the same underlying architecture.

If you have an existing Ubuntu, Kubuntu, or Edubuntu installation, it is possible to install Xubuntu and retain your current installation. To do so, just go into Synaptic (or Adept if you use Kubuntu) and install the xubuntu-desktop package. Next time you login, you can choose Xfce4 from the Session menu on the login screen. If you want to have a default Xubuntu install but have installed Ubuntu or Kubuntu, you can remove all Gnome and KDE packages by following instructions on this page.

O pacote vem com um instalador, o que facilita bastante a nossa vida . Depois de baixar, basta extrair e executar o Seven Transformation Pack 3.0.exe, escolher as opções de acordo com seu computador, e quando for escolher o tipo de transformação, recomendo o Classic Mode, para poder escolher os recursos que deseja instalar e na tela seguinte, escolher “I don’t want to perform system files transforming”, isso vai deixar o sistema menos parecido com o 7, mas vai evitar problemas quando quiser desinstalar o Pack e diminuir consideravelmente o risco de corromper o seu Windows.

O pacote contém varios recursos como cursor, sons, tela de login, screensavers, visual style, wallpapers além dos aplicativos ViStart, ViSplore, ViGlance, Vista Rainbar [Uma ótima sidebar], WinFlip e TrueTransparency.

He has proved his talent by making releases on different European and American labels, including Kostbar Music, Globox, i220 and De’fchild Productions. Windlight settings: Fairy

For a while now I have been playing with the thought to offer some of the Windlight settings used in my pictures as downloads. Finally I got organised and remembered to actually save some of the settings while taking photos for this post in Elvenforest . This is the first time I am trying this so please let me know if the downloads or anything else does not work. For a guide on how to install Windlight settings, please take a look at this tutorial written by Torley Linden. I would be more than happy if you would link back to this blog if you use any of them – mainly so that other people can download them too and because I am very curious on how others might use them. But I do know how difficult it can be to remember which settings were used during a photo shoot and that it isn’t always feasible. Therefore it isn’t a requirement for use.
